I live in Alabama and in the central'll try to grow Japanese Maples from seed. is necessary to "winter" for 90-100 days?

It is a maple. There is no need for stratification. One thing to ensure that some seeds of maple trees, you will receive at least one sprout planted.

I collected seeds of Japanese maple and taken only in pots and germinated. In a few months ago I had more than a dozen plants that I have friends. I am looking for any information about its development, I decided to try it, and that's what I would do:)
